Tibetan Portrait: The Power of Compassion (Art Exhibit)

"Tibetan Portrait: The Power of Compassion" will open at the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art on Sunday, March 29, 2009. "Tibetan Portrait" highlights photographic portraits of Tibetan people by renowned contemporary artist Phil Borges. The opening on March 29 is particularly timely as March 28th is the 50th anniversary of the failed Tibetan uprising that protested the occupation of Tibet. The exhibition celebrates the compassionate spirit of the Tibetan people as they struggle to maintain their culture in exile and under occupation.The exhibition will remain on view at the Museum through December 2010.The Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 1-5pm.
